Privacy Policy

Overview

Can They Have It? is operated by McKittrick LLC. This Policy explains how information is handled when you use our website or iOS app. The website is a landing page with links to the App Store; it has no account or payment form. The app can store information you enter about your pets and offers purchases through Apple. Features vary by app version.

Information You Submit

Current app food lookups use a bundled catalog. Ingredient-label recognition uses Apple Vision on the device, with text you can review before checking. This workflow does not upload your label photo to an AI service. Older or external clients of the retained website checker API send their food and animal query to our hosting and database providers; do not put personal information in a food query. The website landing page itself does not ask you to upload images.

Analytics and Technical Data

We may use privacy-conscious analytics and hosting services that receive anonymous or aggregated technical information, such as page views, device type, browser type, approximate region, and performance or error data. We use this information to maintain and improve the site, not to identify you.

AI and Third-Party Services

Catalog content may originate from automated generation and third-party references. That is different from uploading your app queries or photos: the current offline checking workflow does not make a live AI request. Reference links open third-party services under their own policies.

Pet Records and Optional Sharing

App versions with health organization store pet profiles, photos, medications, dose history, sensitivities, symptoms, medical records, appointments, care tasks and caregiver/contact details locally using Apple storage frameworks. The local model container does not automatically sync these records through CloudKit. Device backups depend on your Apple settings; an app backup or recovery guarantee is not provided by this statement. Do not delete or reinstall the app as a first step when records cannot be opened.

The caregiver-sharing workflow is not yet complete. New invitations and recipient profile viewing are unavailable in the staged app. Existing CloudKit invitations, if any, require separate revocation. The optional snapshot code includes pet identity, breed, weight, health notes, vet and emergency contacts, sensitivity names and active-medication names. Creating an invitation would upload that subset to Apple CloudKit; it is not the same as local-only storage. Deleting a local pet does not revoke an existing share or erase a copy a recipient already saved. Contact support before deletion if you need help with an existing share.

Apple Purchases and Advertising

Apple processes app purchases and subscriptions. The app verifies StoreKit entitlements and caches access status on the device; it does not collect your payment-card details. Existing lifetime ad removal and Plus subscriptions are separate entitlements. App versions displaying ads use Google Mobile Ads, which can process device and advertising-related information under Google's policies. The app refreshes Google's consent status before requesting ads, displays required privacy messages, and provides an advertising privacy control in Settings when Google requires one. Website hosting, Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are separate from app advertising.

Children's Privacy

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address it.
